Bedouin Sound Clash was Raz Mesinai’s critically acclaimed debut album as Badawi, on the legendary punk/dub cassette label, ROIR Records. The album consists of riddims produced by Mesinai between 1992-1995 when under the moniker “The Bedouin” for his underground cassette production label, Psy Co. and Ruff Riddim Productions, and features the vocal stylings of long time collaborator, Honeychild Coleman (The 1865, Death Comet Crew, Mad Professor) as well as Mesinai’s signature dubbed-out percussion playing and heavy bass. Bedouin Sound Clash was highly influential to the birth of the NYC underground experimental dub music “Illbient Scene”, and a decade later influencing the early “Dub Step” scene, while Badawi albums made their way into films by Darren Aronofsky, Ridley Scott, Jonathan Demme and many more.
